first_imgMS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have had their say on Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah’s challenges ahead of the 2019 Indian Premier League season. After Pant and Bumrah sent out mock-challenges to their Team India mates, the response from Kohli and Dhoni acknowledges the effort but fired their own warning shots.Kohli reminded Bumrah that he is sledging his own captain and then going onto add that he should not expect any favours from him when they meet on the field in the IPL.Dhoni, on the other hand, said that he used to think the way Rishabh does now but went onto remind the youngster that it will be him behind the stumps when he walks out to bat in the tournament.”World ka best bowler? Nahin yaar. Abhi toh world ke best batsman ke dande udaana baaki hai. Aa raha hoon Cheeku bhaiyya, aur iss baar aap meri team mein bhi nahin rahenge, (World’s best bowler? Not yet guys. I still have to castle the best batsman in the world. Cheeku Bhaiyya (Virat Kohli), I am coming for you, and this time you are not even in my team),” Bumrah had challenged Kohli. This what Kohli said in response to Bumrah – “Cheeku bhayia! Apne captain ko sledge karega, chal…aakhir seekh hi gaya tu. Bas apne cheeku bhaiya se koi udhari expect mat karna. (Your are sledging you own captain, so… you have finally learnt. Just don’t expect any favour from your ‘cheeku bhaiya’)””Mahi bhai na guru ke samaan hain. Agar Mahi bhai nahi hote na, pata nahi mai wicketkeeper-batsman hota, nahi hota. Lekin is baari unki team pe main aisa barsoonga ki captain cool, cool nahi rahenge. Mahi bhai tayyar rehna, game dikhane aa raha hoon. (Mahi bhai is like a teacher. If Mahi bhai wouldn’t have been there, I don’t know if I would have been a wicketkeeper-batsman. But this time, I will rain down at his team so hard that captain cool won’t remain cool. Mahi bhai be ready, I’m coming to show you the game),”Pant had said about Dhoni.advertisementThis is what Dhoni said in response to Pant – “Jaab main maidan main utra tha, toh aise hi shochta tha. Aja Rishabh, wicket ke peeche toh main hi rahoonga. (When I first stepped onto the field, I used to think the same. Come Rishabh, it will be me behind the wickets only.)””Game dikha.. name bana (Show your name.. make your name)”The IPL 2019 will begin with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai on March 23.Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will start their campaign against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 24.Also Read | Kohli loses 1st home series as captain after Maxwell’s Bengaluru blitzAlso Read | MS Dhoni stretches 2.14 metres to foil Handscomb stumping attemptAlso Read | Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni hit 50th career sixes in T20 Internationalslast_img
